I have been trying to decide on the best way to deliver digital images to my clients, and I think I have now settled on what I think is the best option.

Many of you will know that I am a massive geek, and I often try and keep everything in-house as far as my website and image systems are concerned. What I mean by that is, I don’t use website creation companies such as Wix or Weebly, I prefer to host the website files on my own Dedicated server which gives me more control. For photo delivery I wanted to keep the photos on my server in the office and then provide a link for clients to access them, but that has a few limitations that I won’t bore you with. As such I have found that using another provider to serve my images is the best option. I have chosen Pixieset, which is used by many other photographers out there, and they seem to get what Photographers want.

I can upload images ready for my clients, and the galleries can be public, private or a mixture of both (the choice is yours). You can have a password to protect the gallery, a pin code to download full resolution copies and you can view them (as can your friends and family) in a beautiful online gallery. If there are images you don’t want other people to see, you can choose to hide them. There are plenty of other features which you will come across if you are a client of mine.

If you want to have a peek to see what these galleries look like, head over to https://client.rawfocus.uk. You won’t have the full options that a client would have, but you can get a good idea of what to expect.

I think it’s important to have a safe secure way of obtaining your images. I will still supply USB keys (depending on package) but more and more devices are now lacking USB drives as we all tend to use tablets and phones rather than computers. With Internet speeds getting faster, I am sure many people will choose to download their images. As always, your photos are also kept in-house on my secure system for safe keeping.
